We bought our coffeemaker when they first came out, so I have had it long enough to evaluate it fairly I think. It is not without it’s faults though. I find it a pain to clean thoroughly with thoroughly being the key word. There are plenty of hiding places for sticky coffee residue to hang out. I am talking about on an every pot basis too. Once you know where it hides, it just takes a little more effort to do a thorough cleanup. I feel it takes more time than it should to do a good job, about 10 to 15 minutes.

As for reliability, the spring loaded tray that holds the basket failed after about two months. It no longer wants to pop out like it should so I have adapted to just pushing the release button and sliding it out by hand. It really isn’t a big deal but just wanted to note it for you. NOISY !!!, When you set it to automatically make coffee with the bean grinder set to “on” for whole bean grinding, it can jolt you out of a dead sleep in an instant.

It MUST be set up properly or you will wake up to a huge mess, coffee all over countertop and grounds everywhere they shouldn’t be. I have done it twice but think I have it down to a science now. All parts must be seated properly and if using the provided permanent gold filter the handle MUST be facing forward. It comes with a three year warranty which was one of it’s better selling points to me.

Beyond that, it does make very good coffee. You can turn the bean grinder function to “off” when using pre ground coffee. The time the hotplate stays on after coffee is brewed is adjustable but the temperature is not. Always makes a pot of piping hot delicious coffee though. has mastered the pouring pot for coffee on this model. It is practically impossible to spill a drop. Hope this helps you to make up your mind either way.
