I bought the Coffee Bar Classic 10 cup after yet another unpleasant experience with the coffeemaker with which we had been battling for awhile (see related epinion). Let me put it plainly: I am in love with this coffeemaker.

I bought the while grocery shopping; it was featured in our grocery store and was on special for $10. off the $35. price tag. With our temperamental , coffeemaking had become a stressful experience; I yearned for a new coffeemaker to restore harmony to our mornings. The appealed to me for several reasons.

First, the lacked many cool gizmos that I love but that usually break or malfunction. There isn’t a clock nor a timer. The coffeemaker will not emit "Beethoven’s 5th" when done. Although I love bells and whistles, I wanted something simple and reliable. I figured, the fewer parts to break and malfunction, the better.

Second, the functions it does have are important to me. You can see how much water you’re pouring into the well through a glass window on the side. The carafe has a lip so coffee doesn’t spew forth while you are pouring it. You may pour a cup prior to the completion of the cycle without coffee continuing to gush from the machine. The coffee is consistently hot and good.

Third, I trust the name. I have a food processor and "mini-chop," and both work unfailingly. Having owned the Coffee Bar for six months, I have had consistent experiences with it.

Fourth, the design is aesthetically pleasing. Our model is white and looks good in the kitchen. While not as millenium-esque as our , the coffeemaker not only looks good but also works well, unlike the .

The only thing I don’t like about the is that it does not have a an automatic shut off which allows it to turn itself off after an allotted time. Yesterday I glanced at it in the middle of the afternoon and noticed it was still on. So one must be vigilant in making sure the coffeemaker is turned off after the last cup is poured.

Every morning we awake knowing that, within 10 minutes, we will be sipping on hot, delicious coffee without having to clean up a mess on the counter. The has restored harmony to our mornings. For this I give it a "5-Cup" rating.
