I bought this coffee maker at a discount store for 50.00 knowing really nothing about the Cuisinart name except that it tends to be pricey.
I liked the look of the coffee maker, as we have a stainless kitchen with black marble counter tops and I thought it would blend nicely. I especially liked the steel coffee pot as I’ve a real tendency to break anything made of glass, which is why we needed a new coffee maker.
So far, I’ve been very pleased with it. It’s got a very sleek, expensive look to it, and it looks great on the counter. It couldn’t be easier to program, and the coffee is very good. I use a wooden scoop about the size of a teaspoon, and use two full size scoops per cup.The coffee we use is special ordered already ground from a local coffee business.
I make eight cups worth in the morning, so that’s sixteen scoops worth of coffee. We use oversized coffee mugs, so we get about four oversized cups worth of coffee. I haven’t had any problems with the coffee overflowing, or with cleaning the coffee pot or coffee maker. The cover of the pot has worked just fine, no problem getting it on or off, and the coffee does stay hot for hours.
The only negatives I might mention, and really I think they’re very slight, are that the filter cup doesn’t always drop down easily into the holder.I sometimes have to move it around a bit before it drops down and fits into place. And it also doesn’t stand on its own, so you have to hold it while you’re filling it with coffee. But these things are really not a big deal, and I would still recommend this coffee maker.
