If you are a coffee drinker and tired of paying $3-6 for your favorite drink everyday, then this is the solution you have been waiting for! It is one of the latest appliances from the team of Jura/Capresso and we are not disappointed! The machine is stylish and takes up less counter space than earlier models.

Buy cups, flavors, and coffee and open up your own little café when guests come over. We have had so many people come over and just fall over themselves when they realize that we can literally make them any drink they want. Even more pleasant of a surprise to them is when they taste it and it actually tastes like a purchased coffee drink!

Out of the box…………………………………………………………….

This machine is a sleek black machine with lovely accents of stainless steel to match our appliances. I am a stainless steel girl, but in this case I prefer the black on the body because it is easier to keep clean. This is a machine that your hands are all over and if it were stainless all over, I would be wiping it down constantly.

The stainless accents are nice and the over all design is a sleek look which looks fabulous on our new counters. It tucks nicely under the cabinetry and is a nice addition to our kitchen.

Using the machine…………………………………………………………….

The most important thing that we have learned with the two machines that we have owned is to use whole coffee beans which are the least oily that you can find. If you use oily beans, they tend to stick in the machine and not fall into the grinder correctly. As a result, proper consistency can not be reached at times. The other solution if oily beans are all you can find is to push them in with a spoon before you grind.

So you buy the machine, plug it in, fill the 64 ounce water compartment, fill the bean compartment, place a cup under the dispenser and push one button. That is basically it! You can steam and froth milk with the steamer to the right of the dispenser. You can also easily pour a couple shots over ice, milk and flavor for a great iced latte.

When the water or coffee is low, the high tech LCD display tells you. The machine literally tells you what to do! Even with heavy use, we only have to fill these two compartments about once a week. There is also an overfill tray that needs to be emptied once in a while. It really is low maintenance to have fabulous high maintenance drinks!

Cleaning is simple………………………………………………………….

After you steam or froth the milk, place a clean towel over the steamer and push one button to clean it! In addition the overfill tray bellow with the used coffee grounds needs to be emptied and cleaned periodically.

Every couple of weeks I throw the overfill tray into the dishwasher on the top rack. This is probably not recommended, but it has worked well for me.

Side Note:

This is our second Capresso machine! We love it. We bought the Capresso C100 before this and it paid for itself about 5 times before it broke down after four years of extremely heavy(I even brought it to the office a few times) and loyal service. Jura/Capresso has excellent customer service and offered to fix it for a small fee or let us trade it in on the Jura/Capresso Impressa E8. Our choices were to either pay $165 to have out old machine reconditioned or pay $500 flat including shipping and trade in our old one for a brand new $1000 machine.

The original old machine cost about $800, but like I said before it truly had paid for itself many times over. We decided that with our new kitchen remodel we would go ahead and take the plunge for the newer upgraded machine. It arrived quickly and as promised by this fabulous customer service department. We have not been sorry.

Measurements

As stated earlier, this is a space saving appliance which takes up far less counter space than previous models. The overall height is 13.6 inches and the width is only 17.1 inches. It is only 11 inches deep.

It is easy to move around if you need it to be portable because it only weighs 22 ounces! This comes in handy if you want to take it to a party or to the office.

Lastly -

We love this! We have had great experiences with Capresso and will buy another one after this one! Great products and great customer service! What more could you want?
