I paid 79.99 for the coffee maker at my local Lowe’s store (and looking at websites, it appears that I overpaid), and since then, I have had nothing but problems with it.

When I was looking for a coffeemaker, I wanted to get one that was programmable and that had a permanent filter. When I saw the DCC-1000 on the shelf, there was a sticker on the display model that said, among other features, “Permanent Gold Filter”. When I got the product home, I found that there was not a filter included, there was a filter available. I was not happy with this, and I almost returned the coffee maker to the store, but I figured that since Cuisinart is such a highly-respected name, I would keep it and order the filter on line.

So, we ordered the filter for 9.00 (more than that for shipping, I might add), and when it came, I began using the coffeemaker again. Every time I use the coffeemaker, the basket part fills up with water, but the water won’t go into the carafe. It appears that the carafe will not press the valve hard enough to make the coffee flow, I need to push it with something. Also, if I do not catch it in time, the top will overflow and make a large mess in my kitchen.

I also have issues like others here do, it’s very hard to fill the coffee maker with the tapered carafe.
