Doing battle from time to time with Rheumatoid arthritis, I much prefer the machines with no carafe, because a full carafe of coffee and arthritis can lead to disaster. I tried some of the other brands, and liked the performance, but they had a nasty habit of leaking after six months. I think the “welds” that fastened the bottom of the resivoir would warp after time. So, I tried the Cuisinart. It looks incredibly cool, works well and makes a great cup of coffee. My only complaint is the old fashioned grayscale LCD readout. A nice bright LED would have been much better. There are a lot of people complaining about the pot leaking and being difficult to fill. Don’t believe it. The pot does leak if overfilled, so be sure to only fill it to the line (it’s there for a reason, people!) As far as being difficult to fill, I struggled with this for about a day, as it really is a very small target to pour water into. It didn’t take me long to figure out that a two liter soda bottle was perfect for the job. Easy to handle, holds enough water for a full pot and because of the small spout on the bottle, it is quite easy to pour with no spills! All in all, I would highly recommend this coffee pot for anyone who wants a great cup of coffee from a very stylish and cool appliance.
