I have been using my B+D coffee maker for about 6 months now and I have to say I have been become increasingly frustrated by it’s “features”.

According to the website this machine has the following functions:

Perfect Pour?Carafe with dripless spout & ergonomic handle.

One-piece cover for access to reservoir & brew basket.

Easy to clean touch-pad controls.

Water fill & coffee brew markings on carafe.

Sneak-A-Cup?Interrupt Feature.

2 Water level indicators.

24-Hour programmable digital clock timer.

To start on a positive note- the handle is easy to grip and the carafe pours nicely. The touch pad and outer plastic unit is very easy to clean with just a sponge and soap. I love the fact that I can programme it before bed and wake up to a fresh pot of coffee.

Now when other reviewers say that if the carafe isn’t placed PERFECTLY on the heat pad they aren’t lying at all. I have had a couple of messy situations where coffee landed up all over the counter and the floor because I was too groggy in the morning to notice that the carafe wasn’t on the heat pad %100. Luckily my cats don’t like coffee or they would have been having a hayday licking up the mess and getting high on caffeine! AND lucky for me it was a Sunday each time so I had time to clean it up-Boy what a mess it made!

The heat pad itself-that just doesn’t seem to get hot enough. I can down a cup of coffee in minutes as by the time I get to half a cup it’s already luke warm, i sometimes add boiling water to reheat it a little.

The sneak a peak feature NEVER works as it always leaks when I have attempted to use it.

The inside of the unit where the filter goes gets very grungy and it is almost impossible to clean as it’s extremely difficult to reach in with a sponge or towel.

I am trying to ignore this but it does leave me wanting to run out and buy a coffee rather than dirty the machine further.

Not a product I would expect from a company such as Black and Decker as they usually make better quality goods.
