Ease of Use: Fair.

The carafe on this coffee maker MUST be placed perfectly during brewing or all the coffee will spill onto the counter. This is a major flaw in the design of this coffee maker and the only reason that I don’t recommend the SmartBrew Plus.

In addition, I find it difficult to pour water from the carafe to the reservoir without some of the water dribbling down the side of the pot and onto the counter.

The programmable digital clock timer works well and is easy to set. This is a very nice feature for such an inexpensive coffee maker.

Durability: Fair.

I purchased this coffee maker about one year ago. The coffee pot still works, but the Sneak-A-Cup Interrupt feature does not work. I usually don’t use this feature, so I don’t know how long it has been broken, but when I pull the pot out while coffee is brewing, the coffee continues to run onto the burner.

Ease of Cleaning: Good.

This coffee maker is relatively easy to clean. When the one piece reservoir and brew basket cover is lifted, there is plenty of room for my hand and a sponge. This is the only coffee pot that I have ever owned where it is possible to clean the reservoir.

The touch pad controls are easy to clean, but there are some crevices around the pad that are fairly difficult to clean.

Style: Attractive.

The SmartBrew Plus is shaped very nicely. Also, it is available in 2 colors (black and white) to match your kitchen.
