I was looking for one coffee machine of this kind for some time, but there was always other priorities.
Finally was time to go for one. I’m a coffee lover and I’m working on a Italian company so I learn to love it even more.
What I was looking for was a machine able to make single serve coffee with really good taste and able to make espressos (that leaves the t-cup system out of question).
I tried first the Tassimo (read my review about it), but wasn’t what I was looking for.
Then I went for my Flavia Fussion, I found it on Macys on sale, so I paid $60 for it.
This is yes, I found what I was looking for:
This is a no expensive machine, that makes single serve really, really good tasting coffee.
The machine itself looks nice, you can have your coffee ready in 20 seconds with an amazing taste. I tried the Sumatra, Colombian, Costa Rica, French, Italian and Espresso, believe me all of them taste extremely yummy.
The espresso I must say is not what you will have from a $200 nespresso machine, and I will even tell you that the one from the tassimo is better than this one (but cost $140 and is the only good thing from that machine), but anyway is a good espresso.
You have to order the coffee online, but the true is that I received it in no time.
The only problem is that you buy the machine to drink a coffee once in a while (about $0.50 per coffee) and you finish moving to the basement the old paper filter machine when you discover that was there for weeks without even touch it.
Update after 8 months.
The machine keep working fine.
I did the cleaning process once. Basically you must fill the water thank with 1/2 water and 1/2 vinager and let it run, when you finish with the entire tank do it one more time and thats it, ready for another bunch of months of use.
Keeping the machine clean means, take paper towel, clean the area around the dispenser (the compartment where the coffee bags are inserted) and no much more.
I didn’t change the water filter yet, probably if you will give it an extensive use the you should, but we make an average of 2/3 cofees by day.
By the way, buy the coffee bags holder from Flavia, it looks good and it give another touch to your coffee area on the kitchen.
