I have been using a Mr. Coffee Model TF4 coffee maker for over two years very successfully. I use the Maxwell House coffee packs– a little pricey but no mess with coffee grounds and the coffee tastes great. This morning the coffee maker just quit, as another reviewer reported. Light came on, but no heat. I considered trying to fix it, but at a price under $20.00 for a new one, I’m just going to get another. (This is less than four cups of coffee at the gourmet coffee shops, and it tastes just as good for regular coffee.) It is small enough to easily take in our motorhome. I had not been doing the vinegar treatment regularly, and this may have hastened its demise. But there was no evidence of mineral buildup. In the motorhome we use bottled water, usually distilled, and our water at home in southeastern Michigan is excellent, so minerals concentrations are low. However, I’ll be more prudent with the vinegar treatment for the new coffee maker. Since I am the only one in the house who drinks coffee, I make just under four cups, which fits in my large insulated mug very nicely, leaving room for some amaretto-flavored creamer. Excellent!
