Only for serious coffee drinkers Philips Senseo HD7832 Coffee Maker I thought the Senseo would be perfect for me since I don't drink a lot of coffee but like to have it around for gu...
yesterday at work we decided to purchase a Senseo Deluxe edition at Wal-Mart as a little Christmas present to ourselves….ohhhh and we had no idea how nice we were going to be to ourselves! this was the best darned cup of joe we had had in weeks…since the last time we paid for that overpriced cup at the leading coffee retailer!
ok so you get a free tiny coffee cup-good for one 4 oz. serving, a free coupon for a bag of pods-necessary for a cup of joe, 2 canisters to hold your coffee pods and an awesome coffee maker!
it was easy to put together, it is easy to use…it takes a little time to warm up the water(like 90 seconds to 2 minutes) and you can get 4 cups of coffee out of a double pod serving….without it tasting watered down.
getting the hang of using it was a bit messy - but not anymore than a regular pot-with the tedious filling and spilling of the glass carafe! you fill the removable canister at the back(remove fully and fill with water-if you leave it in the machine thinking you can save a few seconds the gravity feed water holding area will spill water all over because you are actually holding open the diaphram for the holding area!) then you put in either the one cup or two cup pod holder - easy to read they have one cup two cups on the handle area, place in your coffee pod or pods…flavored or unflavored, push down the top to close over where you just placed the pods-push down tightly otherwise again you will make a big mess with additional water, place your cup or cups underneath the dispenser nozzle, hit the on button - after the slow blink stops and is steady red then you hit the one cup or two cups to iniate the coffee maker! If you see a fast blinking red light that means you are out of water-you need to add more! you may have to do this twice to fill a regular 8 - 10 ounce mug! well worth the wait….after each cup you have to hit the power button to heat the next batch of water-wait for the steady red light and then hit the cup amount - one or two cups but like i said worth it!
boy o boy is it a good hot cup of coffee that has a wonderful rich flavor and is foamy at the top!! we have in one day consumed almost 16 pods of this wonderful stuff! the bags of coffee pods are kind of expensive….3.50-4.20 for 16 pods but you can get 4 good cups of coffee out of 1 pod! they have an assortment of flavors from light roast to dark roast, mountain roast, hazelnut, vanilla and cappucino…we have not found this one yet but we look forward to it!!!
i have not found a cup of coffee out of this maker that has not been delicious! it is a bit messy at first but once you get the hang of it off you go!
4/12/2008 UPDATE!!
I have recently recieved a FREE….well $15.00 for shipping, Senseo coffee pot. When we initially purchased the coffee pot I filled out the registration information and joined Club Senseo; a few months after I received an email with information regarding the free coffee maker. After reading the information VERY carefully I ordered the maker and seven days later I have received it!! It came with 5 $20 coupons for coffee makers for friends who I did not email the invite for them to receive a free maker, a coupon for $2 off pods, the coffee maker and info regarding how to host your own coffee party to get the word out!
Again I am so impressed with Philips for making such an affordable coffee maker that uses smart technology to make one cup at a time. It truly does make the biggest difference…I am now drinking good coffee one cup at a time versus a half of a traditional every morning just to wake up! I enjoy my morning, noon and evening coffee one cup at a time…and since you can brew just a cup with a pod having a cup of decaf at night is no problem!!
