I read 2 the preceding reviews before purchasing. The 2 reviews couldn’t have been any more opposite, so I decided to give it a try just the same. I frequent the Coleman Outlet in Hagerstown, MD, so I picked up one there for $40. My first camping trip of the season isn’t for another month or so, and I couldn’t wait to use it. Living in the city, I don’t have a backyard in which to set up my camp stove, so I tested it out on my gas stovetop in my kitchen, carefully emulating my campstove by placing it on top of the burner and keeping the gas low. Within 2 minutes, I could hear the water beginning to pipe up to the basket, and withing 5 minutes, coffee was dripping into the carafe. The whole pot took about 25 minutes to brew, but it was well worth the wait. The quality was equal, if not better, to my Gevalia Kaffe. If only the carafe was a vacuum-sealed thermos like my Kaffee and not a glass pot, I’d consider putting the Kaffee in storage! The other review mentioned a “bad burnt-rubber” taste, so I was sure to clean out everything and run some water through it just in case, but the coffee was perfect! I only wish I had known about this product previously, as I don’t recall seeing it until the most recent Cabela’s catalog. Otherwise, I would’ve tried it long ago!
