This is a really simple and awesome idea that someone had. I roast my own coffee and brew it in a vacuum pot, which is my preferred method. For single servings the vacuum pot can be a bit of trouble though, so I wanted something that brewed the same flavorful rich coffee that my vacuum pot does. I always loved French Press coffee too, and with this gadget you get the great taste of press pot coffee with virtually no sediment. I’m not certain how it keeps so much sediment out of the cup, but it does a great job of it. The only downside to this thing is that there is no way to take the bottom apart to clean the underside of the filter and the funnel where the coffee comes out, so over time, coffee oils are going to build up in there, get rancid and taint the cup. You probably have to clean with something stronger every once in a while to rid it of the sediment that is going to build up. If bonjour could make a way to take this off and allow you to clean the underside of the filter, this product would be perfect.
