This is a ten cup maker with auto start and stop timer, “aroma” function (great!) and pause and serve. It has a metal, thermal carafe.

I purchased this on eBay to replace my broken Braun Aromaster.

I wanted auto-on and auto-off functions, pause and serve, and was hoping for a metal carafe, as I hate breaking the glass carafes early in the morning!!

The appearance is great - sleek, easy to clean and easy to understand.

The flavor of the coffee is amazing - I use only the “aroma” function - it tastes like Starbuck’s quality.

The first time I used it the drip into the middle of the carafe lid through these tiny little holes really worried me, but it works fine, and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for at least an hour or two - the thing cuts off as soon as the coffee is made. I like this because now I don’t worry if my coffee maker was turned off when I leave in the AM!

It pours easily - much better than the dribble-spout on my Braun!

It comes with a permanent filter, but I have not used it - I still have tons of paper ones left, so I’ll use them first.

It does not come with a water filter.

Down side 1: this coffee maker also comes in black and that would be better if you’re bothered by the staining on the carafe lid from the coffee dripping directly onto it. I have washed it off using Dawn Complete, but over time it might not wash off completely.

Down side 2: The level indicator on the side is hard to see, and the carafe doesn’t come with a level indicator.

UPDATE - June 2007 - still works great, although the white carafe lid is now quite stained and very hard to clean.

DH did overflow it once, but he’s a fast learner and we have not had a repeat disaster! Still recommended!
