I put a coffee maker on my Christmas list for my husband because my old one was about to die. He bought me the Black & Decker VersaBrew. I was surprised to read some negative comments because I love mine.

A coffeemaker is a coffeemaker for me. I don’t have any loyalty to brands. I just want my cup of coffee in the morning. But I did give my husband some guidelines and this coffeemaker has just want I want.

My favorite feature is the Auto Brewing. (You should note that this is available with the models that have clocks only!) For me, every minute counts in the morning, and this is such a time saver. I load up on coffee and water the night before and set the timer for ten minutes before I get up. I wake to the smell of fresh coffee, and, while still half asleep, pour myself my first cup of the day. It’s so nice to have it ready and not have to wait while it brews.

I thought I would love the Sneak-a-Cup feature, where the carafe can be removed to "sneak-a-cup" before the coffee is finished brewing. However, after trying this once, I found that the coffee is too strong and just does not taste good.

My coffee pot is easy to clean and the filter basket is easy to detach and, more important, is easy to put back in again. The coffeepot is stylish and looks good on my counter top.

It’s hard to get too excited about a coffeemaker but, hey, anything that makes life easier is a good investment. If you are looking to buy a coffeemaker, I would recommend this one.
