A daily routine of caffeinated consumption seems to be fairly common among the general public, so as to supplement this habit we opted to receive a Krups XP 1500 Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker as a bridal shower gift.

Unfortunately my consumption of caffeinated beverages is somewhat limited to tea, as I find the taste of coffee unappealing, unless it is served in an delicious ice cream. (Weird how that works)

Funny how I get stuck making the coffee for the wife, as she bats her eyes and says “Honey Can you make some Coffee” Notice there is not a question mark after the statement.

At a Glance

The Krups XP 1500 Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker, makes for a nice addition to our kitchen decor as its black exterior offsets and compliments the color scheme quite well. Actually I prefer the color and design over a white coffee maker, the small knobs and handles are easy to read and understand thus the appeal is even furthered in this respect.

Looking deeper into the unit one notices that the lid and small plastic grate under the espresso pot is somewhat cheap looking upon closer inspection. Overall the actual unit looks stylish, and complements the kitchen, but some of the pieces that are removable look almost to plastic like and somewhat take away from the elegance of the machine.

Usage

Making coffee with Krups XP 1500 Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker, proved to be a simple process. When it came to filling the water, inserting the filter, and starting up the brew it was a snap. Furthermore cleaning of the machine, proved a snap, as the filter could easily be access so there I did not have to dig around to release it or pull out some contraption like the ones at work.

I have never had the pleasure of making my own espresso, but this again was a simple process explained step by step in the user manual. Simply setting the units controller to the proper setting and following the instructions made the process painless.

Some of the features like being able to stop the brewing process to pour some coffee rather than waiting for it to complete the entire pot is a helpful invention for those impatient days. The swing out filter makes it much easier to add coffee and makes clean up a breeze. Many of the features make this particular machine a great addition to the home and increase its value in terms of convenience.

The result of the coffee produced has proved quite good, it usually turns out richer if we add a higher volume of beans. Truthfully it produces a decent cup of coffee, and the espresso machine has given us similar results.

Recommendation

Overall performance of the Krups XP 1500 Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker, has proved effective, easy to use, and simple to maintain. I enjoy the way it blends into the general decor and has a stylish look that does not upset the balance of our kitchen environment. The unit has a user guide that answers a lot of FAQ’s along with step by step instructions that make using the coffee & espresso machines a breeze. The features included make it more convenient than a standard coffee maker, and with 10 cups it makes it very easy to brew enough for guests while entertaining.
