We import our coffee from Guatamala and no matter how strong we brew it, no bitterness. I find cleaning easy with a small round brush to do the little nooks and barely damp, the brush cleans the pieces that cannot be removed. The noise can be used as your alarm clock if it bothers you, we have gotten used to it and sleep right through the grind cycle. The timer, clock and different settings are easy to use and I will someday replace this unit with the same model. Why am I thinking about replacing it after only two and a half years of use? I am married to a bear and he has found two little flaws.

1. The lock holding the cover to the grinder shut is small

and made of plastic and easily snapped off.

2. The heating plate will rust if you put a wet carafe on

it too many times.

I highly recommend this product. Also, the company was very helpful in replacing the carafe when it developed “bear damage!”
